Restore Address Book Server Backup
The following steps will guide you through restoring a backup taken of your Address Book Server. Depending on the sync mode selected you may have to disable the clients. In certain modes (Changes / Automatic) only the differences since the last synchronisation are fetched from the server. So restoring the backup will not update the clients. In Automatic mode only every 10th time are all records fetched, so it may take some time for the restored data to appear. Typically it is best to switch the clients into Complete mode and after they have been updated back to Automatic.
- Stop the server. See Restarting Address Book Server for details
- Delete the content database folder '/usr/share/addressbookserver/db'
- Unzip the backup file from the '/usr/share/addressbookserver/backup' into the database folder '/usr/share/addressbookserver/db'
- Start the server and verify the data is correct via the web interface
Time Machine
If you have a time machine backup of your server you can restore the server and it's database by brining back the entire '/usr/share/addressbookserver' folder.
